Twin Rivers Motoring Extravaganza 2023

Running for over 20 years, the Twin Rivers Motoring Extravaganza is a great family day out with music, entertainment, food & refreshments - and an amazing range of vehicles on show!

All makes, models, types, shapes, styles and ages are welcome - if it has wheels, bring it!

$20 per display & spectator vehicle. Fit as many people in as you like, it's still only $20 for the vehicle!

Proceeds in the past have gone to The Child Cancer Foundation, the Canterbury Charity Hospital, and the Cholmondeley Children’s Home.

The club is visiting Quail Island. March 25th 2023 (Register now closed)

Cost $14 per person for return trip (senior, adult and children) (the Rotary club is paying the balance)

We are meeting at 10am sharp at B Jetty, Lyttelton Harbour.  At the end of the Lyttelton tunnel turn left onto Norwich Quay. The 2nd turning to the right is the Oxford Street overbridge, you will need to park on Norwich Quay and walk over the bridge. Follow the footprints on the pavement and signs to Black Cat ferries and Quail Island.

• Walkway The Quail Island Walkway starting at the new wharf offers a circumference walk (2 hours round trip), and a shorter one-hour option. The easy walk takes in a view of the shipwrecks, leprosy graves and the kennels used for Scott’s quarantined dogs.

Return trip leaves Quail Island at 12:30pm

Upon return walk to Lunch at Eruption Brewing 26 London Street (all welcome purchase your own lunch and drinks)

Hororata Glow Festival

You are invited to GLOW with our community. Tickets will go on sale in January 2023.

The Hororata Community Trust is excited to bring the Hororata Glow Festival to our community for the fourth time. Building on the past three events the Hororata Glow Festival promises to be even more spectacular in 2023. 

The hot air balloon Night Glow will again light up the sky. Be amazed as these giant balloons glow in unison to music*. Prior to the Night Glow performance, people will be able to walk inside a giant cold inflated hot air balloon as well as interact with the balloon crews.

Surrounding the hot air balloons will be a magical festival where everything will GLOW!

The Hororata Glow Festival will host the best of Selwyn food and wine, attractions and activities.  As well as offering a cultural feast with 40 different food vendors.

*the balloons do not leave the ground during the performance.
